何謂「嘉年華會」（Carnival）？

 

      這個又被稱為狂歡節的傳統，是一種天主教徒自發的慶祝活動，並非教會官方的規定，也不適用於基督新教。根據不同地區混合風俗習慣，讓節日內容有所差異。但開始時間通常集中在每年的2、3月間，期限從數週至數個月都有可能

     由於按照宗教規範，復活節（Easter）前40天，多地天主教徒必須嚴守禁止吃肉、娛樂、婚配等一切喜慶活動，被稱為「封齋期」（Fastenzeit）；故才有在齋期之前，大吃大喝、大肆慶祝的慶典。
